On the verge of eviction because someone she entrusted with her money to pay the rent fleeced her, an 85-year-old East End woman was out of options. Then State Marshal Heather Goulet and City Councilwoman Eneida Martinez went to work.

Good afternoon Bridgeport/Surrounding towns,
Today we made HISTORY April 2, 2026. On March 23, 2026 I received a disturbing telephone call from State Marshal Heather Goulet regarding an elderly 85 year old lady she had presented to evict. Heather stated “Eneida, I can’t do this, can you please help”. Immediately I presented to 287 Bunnell Street where I found a fragile 85 year Dorothy Davis – McKenzie. Immediately my antenna 📡 went up, I said LORD WE CANNOT PUT THIS LADY OUTSIDE. I immediately made contact with other powers at be. Dr. H Keyon Gaston, Antonio Felipe who were in active session at the Capitol. They both answered my calls, I gave them the story, it took them both 20 minutes to shake and bake. Dr. Gaston made a call to the property management office, Antonio connected me to Atty. Sarah White from Washington, DC. Eviction was STOPPED. Immediately we started raising funds. We had Frank Parker Recchia News 12 cover this critical need. After the story aired, we were able to raise funds to fulfill an almost $10,000. Back rent, late fees, legal fees and marshal bill. Big shout out to Carmen M. Ayala for stepping in and fulfilling a huge portion of this bill.
The moral of this post is to THANK YOU ALL WHO DONATED FROM $1.00 TO $5,000. AS OF TODAY MS. DOROTHY DAVIS – MCKENZIE BALANCE IS A ZERO, and her rent was paided in full for the month of April 2026 as well. WON’T GOD DO IT WHEN WE WORK AS ONE. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Waiting on her name to be cleared on the State of Connecticut Judiciary Site, so we can move her May 1, 2026.
