    1. Donald Trump hasn’t got a clue. He thinks he is the president of the Republican Party, not the United States of America. He and all the conservative gasbags and talking heads are stumbling all over themselves to spin this as a conspiracy perpetrated by the Democratic party to generate sympathy before the midterm election. Trump and the professional liars of the West Wing are quick to point out that Cesar Sayoc sent the bombs, not Donald Trump.

  1. If the media is reporting “fake news” check the fact checkers to see who lies the most. It’s Trump hands down.
Oh that’s right. The fact checkers are wrong. Only Trump is right no matter what he says.

  2. The President of the United States publicly announced that he’s a “Nationalist”, and days
later Bombs are placed around the country at the homes and offices of his “Enemies”, including a past President of the Country.
    Coincidence ??????????

  3. Donald Trump has encouraged violence at nearly every one of his political rallies.

The problem is not just Trump although he is the biggest pain in the ass we as a nation have to endure. The political climate has become toxic. It’s not about what is best for the nation, not at present. It is all about tribalism. The tired, the poor, the huddled masses still come to us yearning to breathe free. As I write this there is a caravan 3,000 strong walking the length of Mexico. Trump claimed there are middle easterners among them. That’s a sop of red meat to his followers. We all know what he thinks of Muslims. That is laughable. Why would ISIS, Al Qaeda or Muslims For Blowing Shit Up fly three thousand miles to Guatemala then walk another three thousand miles to get to the US?

  4. It must be nice too be a liberal and free from any blame for whats going on out there. Now according to out of towner Bob Walsh its all Trumps fault. He Bob how bout the comment from Newsman Cuomo on CNN where he states that Trump ordered the guard to the border to shoot immigrants.
There is enough blame to go around and it mostly centers on politician from both parties. Bob Hillary lost the election get over it

    1. The news media reports the news, Andy. That includes every word that drools out of Trump’s mouth. He’s on the record encouraging violence against protesters and anyone else that doesn’t agree with him. This morning every news outlet on cable TV has been throwing it back in his face. Is that unfair? No. Why. BECAUSE HE FUCKING SAID IT.

  5. What are 800 soldiers going to do at the border???
Schedule one-on-one’s to discuss the problems in America today and persuade them to turn around and return to the wonderful life that they left behind??
And when the shooting starts Trump will blame it on more fake news.

  6. And Andy what the hell business of yours is where I live.
I gave all that I had to this city.
I found a wonderful woman who live outside of Bridgeport and I moved in with her. Living in Bridgeport was not a lifetime commitment for me.
And I still do more for Bport than you do so shut the f’ up.

  7. Andy
You just proved yourself totally ignorant not knowing a thing that you say. But just keep on talking out of your ass.
And my record on the council shines in comparison to the Ganim work you did on Parks & Rec. Kind of like the comedy show by the same name.

      1. Again, sometimes I can’t keep my mouth shut because after hanging around Bridgeport politics for almost 40 years I know or remember just about everything. Bubba, was one of the best Council members ever to serve on the CC, and Andy was one of the best commissioners ever to serve on Parks. Since their time of service, I can’t name one person who trumps them. (No pun intended.) Both have remained engaged in one way or another and I appreciate that. Blogging sometimes incites words that are (sometimes) not meant. So, thanks to Bubba, my former council partner, and thanks to Andy for keeping things spiced up.

  8. We have a bad actor in the White House. Dangerously ignorant and stupid — absolutely unmeasured in his often bizarre and misinformed public commentary, which has several times, included actual directives to inflict violence on protesters at his “rallies” (which could just as well have taken place in 1939 Berlin or Munich…). This 45th President of the US has little apparent ability to self-monitor and self-regulate/edit his public commentary for problematic content in the content of its delivery from the most powerful position in the world. He is ignorant, dangerous, and has no clue about how make America stronger — socially, economically, or militarily in the long- or short- terms… He is in the Presidency to promote his own economic self interests… He clearly needs to be replaced by a “46,” ASAP…

  10. Andy: This economy is still a credit-dependent house of cards — just as it has been for most of the past 50 years… Our consumption still far outpaces our wealth creation — we literally feed off of the rest of the world’s productivity, and only a minority of our population maintains a desirable, financially-stable lifestyle on this basis. The stock market is mostly bubble, our personal and government debt (all levels of government) is at historically-high, untenable levels, and, of course, the unemployment rate doesn’t account for several percentage points of workers that are under- or temporarily employed — and significant numbers of workers that were permanently unemployed by the 2008 global economic collapse… Not to mention the drastic lowering of inflation-adjusted, average wages, as well as the loss of benefits with most jobs…

Andy: Living in Bridgeport, you certainly realize that the economic picture painted by the government is a lot uglier when viewed under clear lenses…

The Trump economy has not made any “real” gains, as we will see, after the elections next month…

And no, Andy, I certainly don’t want to see Hillary replace Trump. I want to see Bernie at the helm…:)

  11. Andy: With rational, socially-responsible, national economic policy — such as we would have under progressive Democrats (e.g., Bernie Sanders — label him as he might wish — socialist — or whatever…) , things would be paid for by the taxes of a gainfully-employed population, and those in positions of economic advantage and strength, according to a fair, graduated tax plan… It works very well in many other developed countries around the world — places that have very wealthy persons that haven’t been taxed into an sort of less-advantaged state… Plenty of millionaires and billionaires in (fully-employed) “socialist” Sweden, Germany, Canada, et al….
