If marinating in social media comments is your jam, there’s plenty of them on the OIB Facebook page.
Two stories about the stolen car pirate Tommy Marra who passed away recently serving a life term for murder has caused quite the stir. His claim to fame, or rather more infamous, was cemented in August 1981 when the feds enlisted him to bribe then Superintendent of Police Joseph A. Walsh over a city towing contract.
Walsh, ready for the set up with his boys staked out Downtown, turned the tables on the feds and arrested Marra for attempted bribery. The story went national. A federal judge dismissed the charges because Marra was working at the behest of the FBI.
So far the stories have attracted more 200,000 views and more than 200 comments. So feel free to fire up another turkey sandwich, smear on the cranberry sauce, add your favorite beverage for some titillating comments. I am doing the same.
