Moore-Hammers State Senate Forum At North End Library

AARP Connecticut and The Greater Bridgeport Latino Network will conduct a free candidate forum on Oct. 27 between Connecticut’s 22nd District State Senate seat candidates incumbent Democrat Marilyn Moore and Republican challenger Elaine Hammers at the Bridgeport Public Library North Branch, 3455 Madison Avenue. Registration, food and refreshments will take place from 5:45 to 6:15pm followed by the forum at 6:15.

The event  will feature both candidates discussing their positions and taking questions from the moderator. In addition, Moore and Hammers will answer questions submitted in writing by attendees of the forum.

The Greater Bridgeport Latino Network will also offer attendees a non-partisan voter registration opportunity.

Connecticut’s 22 District covers about one-third of Bridgeport, all of Trumbull and a portion of Monroe.

  1. John Marshall Lee, I notice the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network will be holding a voter registration at this event and my question to you is where is the Greater Bridgeport NAACP voter registration drive?

    1. State Coordinator for NAACP hired by National spoke to the Board meeting about arrangements and coordination in mostly urban CT centers including Bridgeport. I am certain NAACP representation will be present at the session for a non-partisan registration opportunity for those who may find it necessary.
Greater Bridgeport NAACP Freedom Fund dinner at Holiday Inn at 7:00pm this evening. Guest speaker on the subject of “Powernomics” as well as annual awards. Will I see you there, Ron? Time will tell.

      1. JML, no I will not be attending. In fact this is the first time I’ve heard about the event. John, I would have thought the voter registration would have been in the media and the registration would have been in going on some time ago. By the way John, I’ve not seen or heard anything from the NAACP President George Mintz about the Bridgeport Board of Education.

    1. I am against Elaine Hammers. We don’t need Tim Herbst’s rubber stamp representing us in Hartford.
I have nothing against Elaine as a person. In fact she and my wife were working together as volunteers this morning at the Trumbull Helps Bacon Egg and Cheese fundraiser to raise funds to feed the hungry at Bridgeport Rescue Mission and Trumbull Food Pantry. It’s Elaine’s politics I detest.

It’s bad enough the Trumbull budget has Elaine Hammers’ hand in it, let’s keep her hand out of the state budget process.
