From Jon Lender, Hartford Courant:

Meanwhile, in the widely read political blog “Only In Bridgeport,” Lennie Grimaldi highlighted the story about the emails that contradicted Merrill’s past statements, and headlined his post: “All In The Family: Merrill Caves To Bridgeport Machine, Rescues Mitch Robles, Gets Caught.”

“This story is getting better every day,” Grimaldi wrote. “State Rep. Ezequiel Santiago, stepson of city sheriff and South End District Leader Mitch Robles … prevailed upon Connecticut Secretary of the State Denise Merrill to rescue pops from prior indiscretions. The switch for Mitch! Gee Denise, was it worth it?”

  • Baffled in Bridgeport

Denise Merrill has tolerated the blatantly illegal absentee ballot operation, the outrageous incompetent and corrupt Democratic Registrar of Voters, out-of-district living issues and well, whatever, you name it. She has had every, every opportunity to stand up and do the right thing for Bridgeport and instead she has sided with the Finch machine and corruption. I hope she gets what she deserves.

*** Denise Merrill and the SEEC, etc. are all “bark and no bite.” Past, present and possible future! ***
