Meet Your Elected Officials

The state budget? Taxes? Government reform? Here’s your chance to meet and greet State Rep. Auden Grogins and State Senator Anthony Musto with questions about how state government operates and what they can do for you. Or maybe even what you can do for them. The Democratic elected officials will conduct separate office hours tonight (Monday) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Burroughs Community Center, 2470 Fairfield Avenue in Black Rock.

Musto apparently got ahead of himself in billing the office hours as a joint effort. Grogins says the office hours will be conducted individually and not jointly. Musto represents Trumbull and portions of Bridgeport and Monroe in the State Senate. Grogins’ Bridgeport constituency includes Black Rock and the West Side.

  1. *** Misery loves company to be able to share the political blame; however I believe some of the Pol districts shared and represented by these incumbents seem to know who’s actually doing the job and who is not! Who was in favor of the J. Hennessy bill and who was not. Who was in favor of the state increase minimum pay bill, or the DOC Detention Center near a nice residential area, etc. Hopefully voters will show and ask good questions concerning the pressing issues in the Park City. Neither of the two represent my district, but if they did at this point and moment in time, Grogins stays and Musto must go! *** DO YOUR POLITICAL HOMEWORK, VOTERS ***

  2. Bridgeport Now filmed part of the sessions and will air the important points Tuesday night at 8 on Chanel 88–Judge Lopez and David Walker had some very on-target points regarding HB-5724 and the governance practices of the city attorney. And Lennie Grimaldi will co-host with me and give some keen insight into the upcoming general election.

  3. Sources tell me Anthony got all the play last night, and not in a good way. I guess his answers can be summed up in the following statement: “I am going to do what I want, and if you don’t like it, vote me out, but I hope you won’t vote against me based on one issue.”

Well, you voted against us, Anthony, the least we can do is return the favor.
