Meet The Republican Candidates

Hey, looking for a warmup event before the UConn national championship game? Check out the forum in Fairfield featuring Republican candidates this cycle. News release:

The Fairfield Republican Town Committee will host a candidate forum open to the public on Monday, April 7th at 7p.m. in the main auditorium at Fairfield Ludlowe High School (785 Unquowa Road, Fairfield). Republican candidates for State Senate in the 28th district, U.S. Congress, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Lieutenant Governor and Governor will be on hand to meet voters and answer audience questions. Currently, there are contested races for the Republican nomination for State Senate, U.S. Congress, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Lieutenant Governor and Governor.

In a joint statement, Fairfield Republican Town Committee Chairman James Millington and State Party Vice Chairman of the 4th District Jeffrey Wright stated “We have an excellent group of candidates running for office this year. Unfortunately, not all can head on to the general election and this event will allow voters to hear from them all ahead of the party convention.”

The following candidates will appear on stage to introduce themselves and answer audience questions in the following order:

State Senate 28th District:
Nelson Gonzalez, Tony Hwang

U.S. Congress 4th District:
Joe Bentivegna, Dan Debicella, Carl Higbie, John Shaban

Secretary of State:
Peter Lumaj, Michael McDonald

State Treasurer:
Bob Eick, Tim Herbst

Lt.Governor:
Heather Bond Somers, David Walker

Governor:
Mark Boughton, Tom Foley, Mark Lauretti, John McKinney, Joe Visconti, Martha Dean
