The holiday kicks off at 9 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park for a flag raising ceremony. At 11 a.m. the City unveil phase one of a police memorial monument with a groundbreaking ceremony at Police Headquarters, 300 Congress Street.

At 1 p.m. a Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the Soldiers & Sailors monument inside Seaside Park, followed immediately after by a wreath laying ceremony at the war memorials located outside McLevy Hall at Broad and State Street.

A cookout on the plaza honoring veterans and senior citizens hosted by Mayor Bill Finch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the City Hall Annex Plaza. Any City resident who is a senior citizen or veteran is invited. RSVP for the cookout is required, please call 203.372.0790.
