  1. Mojo is right, Malloy is going through all the motions. This article makes it look like Dannel will be the only one working today.

As to the DTC rejection of Dan, you can make book that Malloy won’t forget. He’ll forgive his big-time backers but Finch and Mario should get ready for the snub.

Is Wyman ready to step in the Gov position? Think about it.

  2. Malloy made up my mind for me the other day in a TV interview. He stated as a cost-cutting measure he was not going to fill 10% to 15% of the 600-plus patronage jobs that are his to make. That tells me he will still make 525-550 appointments. Big savings. Pure BS.
When asked about an increase in the income tax he fudged the answer. With a Democratic legislature that has almost bankrupted the state and Malloy as governor we are going to pay big time.

  3. TC, you don’t think Foley will fill those positions or keep the same old political hacks? Don’t kid yourself. Maybe you should talk to Joel about joining the Republican Town Committee. That’s where you belong lately.

  4. chs: I hate to say it but I don’t like either party at this point. They are all full of it. I am thinking about what you said about joining the Republican party. Can’t do that. I am leaning towards becoming an independent voter at this time. Nothing is going to change in Bridgeport as it relates to politics. We will regenerate the same shitheads who are there now. They will screw us around again, we will moan about it then vote for the same ones all over again. Btw I do think Foley will fill those positions but don’t tell me like Malloy did that you are going to cut them and then only announce you will cut 75. chs I will bet you a dinner if I am wrong that he will fill all 600-plus positions if he is elected. If I am right and you are wrong you owe me nothing.

  5. Malloy won’t fill all those positions. He has to produce a two-year budget in less than sixty days. We are hiring the CEO and COO for the next four years. This is important to Bridgeport. Malloy/Wyman understand the urban issues, they have the experience Bridgeport needs. The right choice is Malloy/Wyman. Every agency and every union is going to be under the microscope. The state budget has to shrink big time. Malloy/Wyman will hit the deck running. My vote is Malloy/Wyman; Jepson; Lembo; Merrill; Himes; Blumenthal. The State will then have the most qualified team to deal with a $3+ billion structural budget deficit on day one and a crappy economy where we are competing globally where technology is doing many of the things we humans used to do. Vote to hire the best. It matters.

  6. Nancy, stop blowing smoke. What I wrote about patronage hiring came directly from a Malloy interview. He doesn’t fill 50 or 60 positions but does fill the other 525, big deal.
He will be in charge of a Democratic legislature that has put us in debt with their deficit spending and he will do WHAT?
He has cut deals with all the unions, is he going to tell them to pound sand after they went door to door and bothered the hell out of people with their constant telephone messages? No he is not.
If we elect Foley there will be one voice to say no to the spendthrift Democratic legislature.
Nancy just where the hell did Malloy experience Bridgeport needs? Come on, take off the rose-colored glasses.
