Linda’s Election Night Smackdown, For Real, Wrestling At The Arena!

The Undertaker

Yeah baby! Another OIB moment. When was the last time WWE scheduled a Smackdown at the Arena at Harbor Yard on Election night? Okay, here’s my conspiracy theory: what can the arena hold for wrestling, 10,000? The WWE will grease Bridgeport neighborhoods with thousands of free tickets urging, schmoozing, begging, pleading Dems who could vote for Dick Blumenthal (screw that) to come to the arena (help Linda McMahon) and check out The Undertaker and The Big Show. And a 6:45 p.m. starting time? Don’t believe me, this is pulled from the WWE website:

  1. *** Not bad for $15. Maybe we’ll see the WWE diva in person handing out political palm-cards while in tights! Why are millionaires so interested in spending their own money to get into politics in general? There has to be a method to the madness, no? Even foreign money is involved in trying to shape American Government elections for personal financial reasons this days. And where is the transparent info that American elections enforcement commissions are supposed to find? ***

  2. Yeah Lennie, I’m going to SmackDown!!! I’ll be on Staycation that week. On behalf of the WWE, I thank you Lennie for the free plug on SmackDown. I should get the prime voters list and have the WWE send out SmackDown ads to them every 4 days; Run ads on Radio Cumbre, WICC, and 108. Daily Newspaper ads on the CtPost, The Bridgeport News and Fairfield Weekly. I would have said OIB, but … No longer does Mojo have to stay home on November 2, 2010. Relax all day–don’t even answer the phone–at six o’clock on Nov. 2, 2010, head to the Arena for SmackDown, and when you’re back home, turn on the News and find out if Dick smacked Linda down.

  3. They would be better off sending in a bunch of casino buses to take people out of town.

Himes could have beat them to the punch by renting Arena on Halloween Sunday afternoon. On Election Day come with your I Voted Today sticker and we will give you a Hollow Weenie!

Early starting time in prep for McMahon victory party. Blumenthal wins and crashes party with a major smackdown.

  4. Anyone who would’ve voted for her will be at the smackdown. She would do better in Bpt by having some of the wrestlers hand out palm cards at the polling places. It probably would have helped in all the major cities. Just like her campaign, wrestling is NOT REAL.

  5. Actually she would be better served if she had them grapplers knocking and dragging the people out to vote for her. They could use the old Ganim trick and bring them in limos.

  6. A change of subject: In today’s paper there is an article about Sacred Heart University wanting to build another building on the Bridgeport side of Park Ave. Below is part of the article:
The university, located in Fairfield, will present its plans to the Bridgeport Zoning Board of Appeals at a meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the council chambers in City Hall. The university-owned parcel is located in Bridgeport, next door to Roncalli Hall, a high-rise dormitory, also owned by the university.
My question is why are all the expansions now taking place on the Bridgeport side of Park Ave?
Why not use the vacant property on the corner of Jefferson & Park Ave? Why not buy houses behind the school and in Fairfield? The university states this wellness center is part of their master plan. Let me remind the ZBA that Bridgeport also has a master plan.

    1. Will those units be taxed and if so will they be taxed per unit? Can someone tell me WHEN Sacred Heart became a Fairfield University? If I remember correctly when Andre Means and company were winning championships for them, it was in Bridgeport. It has never moved? I wouldn’t allow any expanding from them until they get their geography right.

  7. Hector, SHU IS located in Fairfield. The west side of Park Ave starting down at 3030 Park is the Fairfield side. You get the F in geography, sorry!

    1. I am sorry to say but the west side of Park Ave up to Old Town Rd is all in Bridgeport. There is nothing on the west side that is in Fairfied. In fact when you get down to the 2 high-rise apartments across the street from each other both are in Bridgeport.

  8. Sorry TC, but I’ll stand on my statement that the west side of Park Ave from Westfield Ave to Old Town Road is Fairfield. The golf course is owned by Bpt but in Fairfield. Hector, the grade stays!!!

  9. Independent You are right I just have a different compass. The other side of Park Ave is all in Bridgeport and that’s where they want to build the welfare center.
