Lamont: Stand Together This November And Defeat MAGA Republicans

From the Lamont campaign:

Connecticut Democrats today overwhelmingly nominated Governor Ned Lamont for a third term at the Democratic State Convention, with the Governor receiving 75% of the delegate vote. This vote makes clear the broad-based support across the state for the Governor’s strong progressive track record, focus on lowering costs for Connecticut families,  and fiscal responsibility.

“I am honored to earn the strong support of the Democratic delegates today, and I look forward to getting out and making the case for how we can build on the progress we’ve made in turning Connecticut around,” said Governor Ned Lamont. “Our party is united by a clear vision for the future, and I am confident that when voters look at our record of putting working families first, an economy that works for everyone, historic investments in childcare and education, middle class  tax cuts, all while reducing the debt and balancing the budget, they will choose to keep Connecticut moving forward.”

The convention vote solidifies Governor Lamont’s position as the party’s choice to lead the ticket. Over the past eight years, the Lamont administration has turned Connecticut’s finances around—delivering eight consecutive balanced budgets, paying down billions in pension debt, and achieving multiple credit upgrades—all while passing the largest middle-class income tax cut in state history. The Governor’s record also includes landmark achievements such as the implementation of paid family and medical leave, raising the minimum wage, and making historic investments in childcare and education.

“The Republicans are now  united behind their candidate and their MAGA agenda, said Governor Ned Lamont. “We should not lose sight of what is at stake. Our goal should be to stand together this November and defeat the MAGA Republicans and the extremism coming from President Trump. We are fighting for our very values, our economic progress, our very own neighbors.”

Following today’s convention, Governor Lamont will remain focused on the daily work of governing and delivering for Connecticut families. In the coming months, he will engage directly with Democratic primary voters to discuss his vision for a third term, with a focus on affordability, opportunity, and standing up for democracy and Connecticut values.

  1. RT,
We were present for an alternative location in the West End, the Wood Ave Deli, hosted by Pedro, a new owner supporting conversations that inform. We have been meeting there at 8 AM. We also meet monthly for Casual Civics Conversations at Augustana Homes in the 138th District at 1:00 PM on a weekday monthly.
Donuts and brunch as alternative thought process for Open, Accountable, Transparent, and Honest value meetings that encourage neighbors to speak, listen, and raise issues about local governance to inform themselves and become regular knowledgable voters in local elections. Time will tell.

Hmmm, I’ve heard this before. There’s always a catch! Let me guess: One gets the 🍩 and brunch one month after the meeting is over.
