Judge Denies Foster’s Moderator Request

Lawyers for Democratic mayoral candidate Mary-Jane Foster asked Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis to a order a lottery system for selecting election moderators supervised by Democratic Registrar Santa Ayala. The judge dismissed the request today saying she has no jurisdiction to rule in the matter. Foster’s lawyers are expected to refile the request, citing a state statute that would provide the judge jurisdiction. Foster made the request because she says she’ll not get a fair shake from Ayala who denied her a ballot spot, a decision overturned by Judge Bellis. The mayoral primary is September 27.

Following a nearly three-hour hearing, Judge Barbara Bellis ruled she doesn’t have jurisdiction to make that decision and denied their motion. But Foster vowed she would be back in court for a Round Three.

  1. My vote is already locked in for Foster via AB so if you will not be in Bridgeport on the 27th make sure you vote via ab although I’m not certain my vote will be counted but hey I did vote and voted for her whole slate. It was a shock though, one incumbent is running unchallenged in the sheriff’s race.
