Sweet story from Chris Elsberry, CT Post:

They would gather at Madison Motors on Fairfield Avenue and march down toward Brewster Street, where the procession would turn right and head to Canfield Avenue, where the Bullard Co. property was located. And tucked behind the foundry were two Little League fields.

For three summers, from 1963 to 1965, Dave Blagys, wearing his wool Little League uniform, made that march to the Bullard Co. field. The company made heavy machine tools but also sponsored Little League baseball. One field was a typical sandlot; the other, however, was a true field, all fenced in with bleachers and dugouts and best of all, an electric scoreboard.
