February’s blizzard of complaints about city snow removal was about as high as the mountain of white left by nemesis Nemo. This weekend’s snowfall is not expected to come anywhere close to that of the record haul in February but considering the fallout from Nemo it’s always good to check in. Let us know if you’ve seen a plow (or not).

The plows have made odd and even passes at least twice on my street, so far. No problems getting out of the driveway, the streets are a bit slippery, but plowed.
So far we’ve had about three inches of extremely light snow. Can’t make snowballs to throw at Sally. Sending out the Street Sweepers would do a better job. Is the storm here yet? The reason not many are posting here is because they fell asleep waiting for the storm.
Plows just made first pass at 4:45 pm with blade up and sand spreading only.
Fifth pass at 5:00. Am I blessed or what? 😉
Roads are being plowed. No mistakes made at this point. Can’t have one more natural disaster that is poorly handled. But hey, this is a guy who has already started spending our dollars to finance his campaign. Green signs, birthday cards for seniors and now a new pamphlet in tax bills (!) extolling the virtues of his achievements and another sheet asking for volunteers for his commissions. Guess he forgot he has raised our taxes three times since he took office. BTW, he has had six years to fill those commission posts and has the worst record in history on filling positions on city commissions. City taxpayers are funding this crap. Not only is it at best puffery and in reality hardly true, we don’t have the money to congratulate the mayor for a bunch of bullshit. He should spend this money on education or wow, what an idea, economic development.
Left Bridgeport at 3:30 this afternoon. Glendale had been plowed and no problems. It is 11:28, the roads are all passable. The city did a good job. How lucky the storm was not as severe as expected and temperatures are expected to rise. Time for SNL.
My street has been plowed so many times I think the asphalt is wearing out. This year they put plows on garbage trucks and sent them out with untrained drivers.
I live on a corner lot and had 8 feet of my corner including a bush plowed away. Who pays for that?
The snow is gone but it is COLD. It is so cold I saw a Democrat with his hands in his own pockets.
I drove through downtown Bridgeport early afternoon to meet some friends for lunch and the roads were impeccable.
If snowfalls do not exceed three inches, we should be in good shape this winter.
*** PIECE OF CAKE FOR THE CITY’S PUBLIC FACILITIES DEPT. ***
Carroll must have slept good last night. So far, so good.
It would have been easier if everyone respected the ‘snow emergency’ and got their cars off the roads. From the looks of it, no one moved their cars. Yet everyone complains about the job that got done.
George Garcia is the new Director of PFD. Carroll went to Parks Dept. Director. Let’s see what happens now.
*** They’re going to wish Carroll was back by July 1st 2014, no doubt! ***
Two little snow events and 90% of the road salt in Public Works has been depleted. Looks as if they are paranoid about their image. Your tax dollars melted away! LOL!
*** Let’s see what Mother Nature makes the city spend this coming winter! ***
