With the state legislative session just weeks away, lawmakers are considering additional slot action to produce new revenue that would require an agreement under the state’s gaming compact with the two tribal nations.

Task force members suggested video games could be offered under the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun brand and indicated the tribes could share some revenue.
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch, in testimony delivered to the task force, supported slot machines at the Shoreline Star and the other two simulcast facilities, saying reduced state revenue would translate into reduced aid for municipalities and a higher burden on local taxpayers.
Bringing in slot machines “would create much-needed jobs in Bridgeport and continue to improve on Bridgeport’s exciting nightlife, while bringing new tax revenue to our city,” Finch said.
