From The Bridgeport Firebirds:
This Saturday, the Bridgeport Firebirds Inc. invite the community to come together for their Neighborhood Block Party Bash, an afternoon dedicated to celebrating our residents, families, and neighborhoods.
The Bridgeport Firebirds have long demonstrated what it means to give back to Bridgeport. Beyond their service as firefighters, members of the organization are actively involved in mentoring young people, supporting educational programs, providing scholarships and resources to students, donating goods and services to residents in need, supporting charitable causes, and volunteering throughout our community. The organization also plays an important role in encouraging greater diversity within the fire service by helping to recruit, retain, mentor, and promote minority firefighters.
Their commitment to Bridgeport can be seen in everything from school and youth programs to community giveaways and charitable initiatives. Most recently, the Firebirds hosted a free back-to-school event providing local children with backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, food, and other resources. Now, they are once again bringing the community together for a day of fun and fellowship!
