Already facing more than 20 charges related to alleged election fraud, City Councilman Alfredo Castillo was arrested again on Friday by the state.
News release from chief state’s attorney:
Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin today announced that Alfredo Castillo, age 53, of Bridgeport, has been criminally charged via an arrest warrant in connection with the misuse of absentee ballots during the September 2023 Bridgeport Democratic Primary election.
Inspectors from the Statewide Prosecution Bureau in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney today arrested Castillo and charged him with four counts of Possession of Ballots and Envelopes Restricted, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 9-140b(d), four counts of Failure to Sign as Assister on an Absentee Ballot, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 9-140(a), and two counts of Misrepresenting Eligibility Requirements for Voting by Absentee Ballot, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 9-135(b).
Castillo was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court, Geographical Area No. 2, on September 2, 2025.
These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Where in that CRT, American history do you place real coded or uncoded, fact form fiction, truth form “disingenuousness” in the civics comveration of Floyd’s death at the hands of the police and Tyer’s death at the hands of the police? Black men killed at the hands of the police.
After the nation saw cops restraining Floyd, one kneeling on his neck as he called out for his mother, saying he can’t breathe. We saw the outrage, the anger, , the marches, no justice, no peace, to say the least.
After the nation partially watched 4 cops beat Tyer to death, no outrage, “fiery” but mostly peace protest, No protest or marches, no MLB, no street painting. No justice, no peace, little media. The Nation had a conversation I recalled. I know the Port did.
My point being is how genuine it is when the nation “saw” the police beating Tyer to death? Who were found Not Guilty. While it wasn’t publicized, and the national media gave little to no play, no justice, no peace went by the wayside, the justice for Tyre is nowhere to be found. Do we dare to have a conversation about that? What does CRT have to say about that./ Inquiring minds want to know.
