From Colorful Bridgeport:
Our September Color Walk explores the rich history and lasting legacy of the Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe right here in Downtown Bridgeport.
Join Clan Mother Shoran Waupatukuay Piper, tribal leader of the Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe, for a guided walk through the neighborhood as she shares the Paugussett’s influence on the modern city, the history and meaning behind familiar street names, and stories that connect Bridgeport today to its Indigenous roots.
Clan Mother Shoran Waupatukuay Piper is also a medicine woman, spiritualist, and author of Red Road: Traditional Voice of Afro-Indigenous American.
This is a special opportunity to experience Downtown through a different lens and learn more about the history beneath our feet.
Spots are expected to fill quickly, so register here
