Okay, you might need a canoe, but don’t let a little rain keep you away from tonight’s Barnum Festival Pub Fest, a new event in celebration of Bridgeport’s annual salute to Phineas Taylor Barnum, the greatest philanthropist in city history. The Barnum Pub Fest is designed to drive visitors to Downtown establishments for a good ol’ Bridgeport bash. This is a cool deal. For a $20 passport you get free food at eight participating venues, discounted drinks (cannot wait to try the ‘Ringmaster Red’) plus entrance to rock out to the music of Billy Genaurio and Destiny at the exquisite Bijou Theatre on Fairfield Avenue, and stay for the after-party, 8 p.m. Your $20 passport helps to offset costs associated with festival events such as the street parade and fireworks.
The Pub Fest starts 5:30 pm. Star 99.9 will have its street team in place led by on-air personality Anna Zap. Free street parking Downtown. Participating bars and restaurants: Bare Tapas & Vino, Barnum Publick House, Blue Martini at the Holiday Inn, Metric Bar & Grill, Murphy’s Law, the Bijou Theatre, Tiago’s Bar & Grill and Two Boots. You can purchase your passport at the Barnum Festival offices at the Holiday Inn, 1070 Main Street, the Barnum Publick House, 1020 Broad Street, or at any participating venue tonight.
Sounds like a blast and we’ll be rowing downtown to join in the fun. I love that an “After Party” in Bridgeport begins at 8 pm. LOL.
