From mayoral candidate Lamond Daniels:
With shocking new video purporting to show members of John Gomes’ campaign team stuffing ballot boxes, Democrat Lamond Daniels today said that the exploding scandal demanded action from state and federal authorities to protect election integrity in Bridgeport.
“This behavior by my opponents’ campaigns is appalling and embarrassing,” said Daniels. “They are making Bridgeport a national laughingstock, and adding to our shameful reputation for corruption and dirty elections.”
To ensure free and fair elections, Daniels called for stronger outside oversight, and prosecution for anyone found to have broken the law.
“Elections are the foundation of our democracy and we can’t allow them to be perverted like this,” he said. “Enough is enough. I am asking for our Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor immediately to determine what laws have been broken and by who, and I am asking the US Department of Justice to send in election monitors to ensure election integrity.”
“But let me be clear, these problems track back to the candidates themselves, and they cannot be allowed to scapegoat their staff or supporters to avoid accountability,” he added. “Both of my opponents appear to be completely complicit in these actions, and they need to explain to the voters what they were doing.
“Further, as more information comes out, we keep finding that this scandal is growing and growing. I am calling on John Gomes to publicly release all ballot box footage he has received – not just the parts that benefit him personally – so every voter can know what is happening in our elections.”
The average Port resident who knows their vote never counted, knowing it’s an inside game taking to someone beyond the Port election boundaries. 🤣

P.S. The 20,000 AB Drive, unrigged, tastes the movement’s holier-than-thou Gen Now reaction to current Port election news. 🙂

Corrupt election practices? We are accustomed to “breaking news” with reports that there will be video at 11 PM. In this case the video hit youtube first though not in a comprehensive fashion showing all of the details available from footage shot with public cameras, public observers, and funded with taxpayer money.
So the request from City Attorney John Bohannon to the Judge in charge to keep video footage “private” is not an act of an OPEN, ACCOUNTABLE, TRANSPARENT, and HONEST municipal government, it seems to me.
And the “story telling” by elected members of the City Council that offers the “race card” as an explanation rings untrue and frankly outrageous to me.
When an absentee ballot system can be played by those in power as well as some who wish to replace them in power, it is time for higher authority to come down from on high and open a full review of all of the facts: those we can observe and acknowledge as truthful, and others that are currently hidden from view.
Time is short you may tell me, but for years now, G2 has ignored the Charter directive to report to the City Council annually in September regarding info collected from all Departments, on the state of the City. Frankly, our Charter does not reference, “renter rebates” which are funded and administered by the State of CT annually providing $700-900 to eligible renters who file an application timely. Funds are sent to citizen-renters around Election dates, though applications may be filed from April to fall with the help of State authorized local assistance. Is it interesting that this responsibility and process has been infiltrated for years by Democratic Town Committee members and political leaders who have duties in City Hall involving Seniors and contact with voters.
Yet many eligible claims for “renter rebates” are filed by folks living in HUD housing. Where do they earn rights to democratic process and listening for their problems, issues, and concerns? Where is Park City Community commission and staff responsible and active, or not? Who stands for democratic practice in this City in general? We are urban, yes. And we are a 70% or more minority community. If you believe that “one person, one vote” is important for all, why are people not coming to vote? The vote is your voice. The ballot gives you a choice. Inform yourself. Your ballot will affect current names on the ballot, and actions for years to come. Vote and encourage others including all of the younger folks you know. Change happens every day, but leadership change happens by pluralities won at election time, not by complaining about “the way things are”. Will you vote on November 7? Will that make a difference? Time will tell.
John, I’ll give this post some caveats of truth in your post, though please forget me for I am a SIMPlE creature without a decoder ring. 🤣 #wordsofdemocracy.
While the Ports absentee ballot system/game can/is played by those in power as well as some who wish to replace them in power, if your premise is true, the vote is your voice it is ultimately the power as well, so there would be no need for a higher authority to come down from on high. Even so, I don’t think the voters/power can handle a full view of all of the facts.

Perhaps time is short, though it can seem like an eternity, and for the past years of G2’s election comeback, his administration has ignored the Charter directive to report to the City Council annually in September regarding info collected from all Departments, on the state of the City. However, at least the White Supremacy thing has toned down a bit. Logically Speaking. 🙂
Though occasionally storytelling on “breaking news” reminds us how twisted Port politics has become in the search for OPEN, ACCOUNTABLE, TRANSPARENT, and HONEST municipal government. 🙃
BTW, John, can that higher authority that comes down from on high be in the form of Aliens? or perhaps another form of higher power to open a full review of all of the facts to observe and acknowledge as truthful, other than hidden from view?

Deliberate election fraud, on a massive scale, was the false claim made by the Trump insurrectionists regarding the 2020 election. It was that suspicion of election fraud, by the easily led, emotionally labile Trump supporters that stormed the Capitol and killed Capital police officers, that nearly upended our elected government and nearly upended our very form of government… Political insurrection, instigated by political manipulators/agitators seeking to install an autocratic despot as US dictator, was accomplished by way of playing on the hopes and fears of impressionable, anti-democratic racists/bigots with respect to the illegitimacy of a democratic election, stolen by way of “ballot stuffing,” per the false claim that was refuted by many exhaustive audits of contested voting districts/precincts, nationwide.
The political shenanigans seen — on thousands of hours of official BPD video recordings — by the whole nation, and beyond, depicting the stealing of an election by “ballot stuffing,” plays directly into the political narrative/rationale for violent insurrection/civil war of the racist, far-right factions of our society/electorate, putting the whole nation at political and even physical risk in the next presidential/congressional election cycle. The dangerous, racist, far-right, will say “Look what happened in Bridgeport!”
And we can be sure that they will be citing the demographic statistics of our city when they deride us, the Democratic Party, and democracy in general as they shake their heads and spit verbal bile as they mourn the Trump loss and Democratic sweep in 2024… It won’t matter that the eyes of the nation and the world force a squeaky-clean election. All that will matter is that massive ballot fraud was perpetrated in one failing, DEMOCRAT city, that, in reality, is run/politically-controlled exploitatively by and for the benefit of those that don’t actually live in the city, in order to keep the regional, socioeconomic status quo, and political/economic benefits available for enjoyment by said “absentee landlords” (puns intended)….
So, yes; Bridgeport’s “Ballot Gate” is an “exploding scandal”, per mayoral candidate Daniels observation. But it might also prove to “explosive” — in a more literal sense — in the aftermath of the 2024 elections, if there aren’t thorough investigations, leading to appropriate legal consequences for any wrong-doing discerned thereof, completed in a timely way, by appropriate law enforcement agencies pursuant to a legitimate outcome in the current, Bridgeport mayoral election cycle…
Hit the RESET BUTTON for Bridgeport’s future! Vote for Lamond Daniels for Mayor! (No absentee ballots in his trunk!…)
