It’s hard to know if Steve Krauchick, the ubiquitous videographer of Doing It Local, is a journalistic night owl or early bird. Capturing breaking news stories involving police and fire, he is both. A dispatch scanner can be a blessing, or a curse, depending on the story. And many of his voiceovers come with human touch observation such as shared in this after-midnight car fire on Beechwood Avenue on the West Side. Check out Krauchick’s video.

Steve has many thousand followers on both FB and his website. He does seem to be everywhere, and does a darn good job of keeping facts straight and citizens informed of local police and fire activities. My hat is off to Steve and his engaging use of social media to keep local citizens in the know.
