FANTASY FIGHTS
– A President Elect vs a long-time municipal official? Have you already received so many punches to your head in your lifetime to invent such a “battle between political senior citizens”?
How about a tally of “gut punches” received when employees hired as best and most appropriate (loyal) disappear from “your corner” of the battleground, the “ring”, during the “rounds” of the fight? Disappear looking for pardons, or entering legal claims against the leader, and having little or nothing to say positive about the experience?
Perhaps that is what a primary focus on “entertainment” rather than “governance” earns the body politic. Not all seniors are destined for deserting the community for health, fiscal, or other limitations. Time will tell.
