From Democratic Mayoral candidate Charlie Coviello:
COVIELLO BRINGING ELECTRIC CAR CHARGERS
The advent of the all electric and hybrid cars has created a need for low cost and easily accessible charging for these vehicles. In coordination with Urban Waste Energy Consortium, the firm that is developing a heating district to provide fossil fuel free heat for our city, plans are being developed to provide battery charging stations at popular public parking locations throughout Bridgeport.
The idea is to locate these charging units where cars can be parked and recharge their batteries. There are two types of charging stations, one with a 2-3 hour charge time and another with a quick charge of 20 minutes. In all cases the cost will be about $1 per hour and paid through a prepaid credit card supplied by the company.
The charging terminals will have a universal plug that will accommodate most vehicles currently in or going into production. As the numbers of these vehicles grow, the company will increase the amount of charging stations.
This is another example of the innovative thinking Charlie Coviello will bring to the Mayors office when he is elected.
“Every new product or industry we bring here means new jobs and a better quality of life for our residents. We can’t sit and wait for businesses to discover us, we have to be aggressive and reach out to new ideas and concepts that will make Bridgeport a special place for new job growth,” quoted Coviello. “All of the new projects I have been developing are for Bridgeport’s future and will build a base of commercial revenue for the city which will give me the advantage of making jobs happen the day I walk into the Mayor’s office.”
You know, I have to give Charlie a lot of credit. Honestly, he is the only candidate speaking directly to the issues of BPT. Everyone is saying we need jobs, Coviello is giving specific proposals to help us create them. Talk is cheap and time is short. I whole-heartedly urge all the other candidates to offer their plans now. Charlie Coviello is coming from the back of the pack to look like a real contender.
Has anybody seen Coviello’s car? It looks like a homeless person’s car. I’d be surprised if it passed DOT inspection.
*** He maybe @ the back of the pack but Charlie does know many of the real issues affecting Bpt! *** HERE WE GO! ***
