City Poises “Pothole Killer”

Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim says the city has received a record number of complaints this year about potholes.

“We’ve had hundreds and hundreds of people calling after one of the worst winters on record — and that’s why I decided to put together a massive public facilities operation to repair the potholes, using what we like to call ‘the pothole killer,'” Ganim said.

“The pothole killer” is a nickname for a mobile set of equipment. It includes a truck equipped with spray injection patchers and an asphalt recycler commonly known as “a hot box,” as Ganim explained it to News 12.

“Our crew is hitting the road every single day, and we encourage residents to use a special app we’ve set up to report the potholes,” Ganim added.

    Here we go again with the same bullshit Joe Ganim explanation. We had discussed this very same issue during my 3 term (1994-2001).
    Notice Joe said (capital “i”), THERE’S NO TEAM IN “I”. Don’t you have a Director of Public Facilities? You could have included Council President Herron whom most likely did more than you.

    Blame the weather and old man winter–It’s a no-brainer. Most definitely it’s not the only, let alone principal cause and effect. Let me explain it to you and hopefully your Director of Public Facility one more time. If the Director doesn’t understand, I’ll explain it in español. I’ll even draw little pictures for you Joe.

    Every kind of building and repair has codes and requires best material for lasting results. What the City has been doing for years, is cutting corner (I know allot about cuttin) and using questionable quality materials.
