City Council Candidate Calls On Gomes To Condemn Pereira’s Misdeeds Against Seniors

News release from Kevin Monks:

Kevin Monks, 138th City Council candidate, is calling on mayoral candidate John Gomes to condemn the actions of his campaign’s biggest absentee ballot harvester as “the evidence against Maria Pereira’s abuse of senior citizens is extraordinary.” Monks, a City Council candidate who lost because Pereira manipulated absentee ballots, is seeking immediate action by Gomes and a thorough investigation by SEEC.

“If I had known then what I uncovered in recent weeks, senior citizens bullied to vote Pereira’s way, I’d have filed a court challenge,” says Monks who issued a complaint with the State Elections Enforcement Commission underlying a series of fraudulent actions by Pereira exploiting vulnerable senior citizens.

Several senior citizens validated Monks complaint which SEEC authorized for an investigation last Wednesday. Jesse Watters of FOX News further elaborated on Pereira’s numerous campaign indiscretions last evening on national television: https://x.com/jessebwatters/status/1726786255990517908?s=46&t=fwRHHegMRopyzbhLnX8cKg

“Gomes is quick to criticize Joe Ganim supporters while talking out of both sides of his mouth. Gomes continues to embrace Pereira, under the fraudulent guise of honesty and transparency, because he fears he cannot win without her gaming the system. He’s afraid to call her out,” stated Monks.

The news site Only In Bridgeport on Thursday posted a video of the woman who Pereira allegedly assaulted on election day at the JFK polling place explaining how Pereira manipulates the process. “Pereira picked them up,” a reference to Pereira breaking state law by handling the absentee ballots of others.

Only In Bridgeport reported Pereira’s numerous indiscretions this election cycle:
— Caught on video searching for an absentee ballot in an elderly woman’s vacant home
— Banned from public housing units after 20 complaints from seniors alleging bullying and harassment
— Arrested for third degree assault on another senior citizen at JFK precinct election day
— And now allegations she illegally handled absentee ballots of elderly residents in the days leading to the September Democratic primary for mayor

“John Gomes made himself accountable for failing to file his campaign finance report on time against state law,” adds Monks. “It’s time he practices what he preaches for something most egregious, Pereira’s total disregard for the sanctity of the vote while bullying, scaring and manipulating senior citizens to benefit his campaign.”

  1. Does anyone think that it is strange for Democrats in Bridgeport being unhappy with how other Democrats carry on, especially when it is “Election Time”? Why doesn’t Kevin Monks not ask DTC leader Mario Testa for a comment on the election chaos? Perhaps OIB or CT Post have similar questions.
And speaking of Maria Pereira, why has the CEO of Park City Communities not made more clear the existing policy, practices, and processes which govern “political activity” on housing that is either senior or disabled specific and subject to HUD subsidies? Whether such comment or banning should come from a HUD employed “executive” or from the leader of the Park City Community Commission, appointed and approved by the City Mayor is a question, without comment, by itself? How many City residential units are affected by PCC policy? Anyone, have an answer? Time will tell.

    1. John, I can answer this, if you wish. No, it is not strange. It’s expected. 🙂

However, isn’t the democratic way to voice your unhappiness, is it not? Why question Monks? Who voiced his unhappiness with fellow democrats.

Although, I do find your question about Monks an oxymoron. Isn’t Mario a Democrat? You find no fault with Monks questioning/carrying on if that other Democrat is Mario.

I can’t speak on the CEO of Park City Communities making clear their policies, but it was made clear Maria is banned from its properties. 🤣

To be fair, perhaps the reflection on the wall only makes it appear that the Democrats carry on with their unhappiness with other Democrats. Kinda like like how it appears Wanda was stuffing the AB box for G2

I mean G2 isn’t really a Democrat. He is a Republican, an MLK Republican.

See what I did there people. 🤣

BTW All PCC units are affected by PCC policies. 🙃

      #Fox News/Papa Bear Merry Christ-Christmas. 🙂

  2. I’ll take the word of Maria P. before (Flucking Fox News) any day of the week, she’s the only person on the City Council sticking up for the Taxpayers of Bridgeport, that’s why Joe Ganim wants her gone.

      1. R.T The presumption of innocence is a legal principle that every person accused of any crime is considered innocent until proven guilty. Under the presumption of innocence, the legal burden of proof is thus on the prosecution, if it ever comes to that. Jesse Watters of FOX News sounded just like Ernie Newton in white face!

  3. After a real, unbiased/objective investigation/examination of all video/witness testimony/Maria’s explanation(s) — it will be very interesting to hear all of the details concerning Maria’s AB-vote tactics and the alleged assault on a senior at JFK on Election Day.

Knowing Maria, I am inclined to believe that she was most-probably set-up, with regard to the apartment entry/ballot search at the Fireside Apartments. I can’t see Maria willfully violating the law or any person’s basic rights… Neither can I see her ever “assaulting” a senior, physically…

When all is said and done, I can see a judge(s) dismissing Maria’s charges in a huff at the waste of the court’s time on misrepresented occurrences that involved no real infraction of the law…

BUT — big B-U-T  — we have to wonder why there has not been a peep out of Governor Lamont, US Senator’s Blumenthal and Murphy, Congressman Jim Himes, et al., about Bridgeport’s “Ballotgate” and its implications for Bridgeport’s future, and especially for the potential for its use as an excuse for another Jan.6-type insurrection after Trump loses the 2024 election… Bridgeport’s “Ballotgate” has put us on the global map and compromised the image of US Democracy at home and abroad…

WHERE IS THE FBI INVESTIGATION OF BRIDGEPORT’S “BALLOGATE”?! WHERE IS THE COMMENTARY FROM THE GOVERNOR AND BRIDGEPORT-LOVING JOE BIDEN?! THEY NEED TO BE TAKEN TO TASK FOR THEIR SILENCE!… (RECALL THE 2010 RESCUE OF DAN MALLOY’S GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION BY THE DISCOVERY OF THE “MISPLACED” BAGS OF BRIDGEPORT BALLOTS, EVEN AS HE WAS FACING A POSSIBLE ELECTION-NIGHT LOSS TO TOM FOLEY. MALLOY WON THAT ELECTION BY A SCANT, 6500 “MISPLACED”/”MIRACULOUSLY DISCOVERED” BRDIGEPORT BALLOTS…

CAN WE ASSUME THAT THERE IS SILENCE AT HIGH LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT CONCERNING “BALLOTGATE” BEACAUSE POLS NEEDING A POSSIBLE BRDIGEPORT “MIRACLE” — SUCH AS THE ONE THAT RESCUED DAN MALLOY IN 2010 — DON’T WANT TO RUFFLE THE FEATHERS OF THE GOLDEN BRIDGEPORT BALLOT GOOSE, OR BE SUSPECTED AS HAVING BENEFITTED BY SUCH?!

WHERE IS THE FBI INVESTIGATION OF BALLOTGATE?! NO FEDERAL CONCERNS FOR BRIDGEPORT VOTERS OR BRIDGEPORT CORRUPTION ANTICS?!

SAY SOMETHING, NED! RICHARD?! CHRIS?! JIM?! NO COMMENT? TAKING THE 5TH?!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
