Barnum’s 202nd Birthday Bash returns on July 5, but this year it will be held at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo

The Barnum Museum wants everyone to enjoy the 202nd Barnum’s Birthday Bash in celebration of P.T. Barnum, famed showman, philanthropist and one of Bridgeport’s best-known citizens. The party will be held on Barnum’s birthday, Thursday, July 5 from noon to 1 p.m. at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport CT. This is all in celebration of the zoo, which has been providing fun and education to families for 90 years! The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the obvious opportunity to see the interesting creatures at Connecticut’s only zoo, the carousel will be operating and the party will feature a hilarious stage show, “Barnum’s World of Wonder and Magic,” produced by Center Ring Productions featuring Joe Barney as P.T. Barnum. The show will educate and entertain while telling the story of how Barnum changed the face of entertainment, not only in America, but internationally. The show is free with zoo admission and will be held at the Peacock Pavilion or inside the Carousel building, in the event of rain.
