The election for governor is in three weeks, but why wait for the last minute? Let us know your choice in the latest OIB poll, albeit unscientific.
If the election for Governor were being held today and the candidates were Tom Foley (R), Dan Malloy (D), Joe Visconti (petition) and Jonathan Pelto (write-in), for whom would you vote?
- Tom Foley (Republican) (46%, 68 Votes)
- Dan Malloy (Democrat) (46%, 68 Votes)
- Jonathan Pelto (write-in) (7%, 10 Votes)
- Joe Visconti (petitioning candidate) (2%, 3 Votes)
Total Voters: 149

No absentee ballots?
Lennie, this blog slants to the Democrat Party (of which I am a lifelong member). With 40% leaning to Foley and over 80% pro-Democrat, a statistician would extrapolate a Malloy debacle.
Bob, this poll is more for fun than anything else, it’s not scientific, but the OIB audience is broader than you think in makeup. Bridgeport is the single largest community audience, but the overall outside audience of suburban readers (Trumbull, Stratford, Fairfield, etc) and around the state is actually larger. The audience is actually more reflective of the entire state than Bridgeport with many readers unaffiliated with a party. OIB readers are also the most active in their communities so they’re engaged on various issues.
I’ll assume you have the data on your readers’ locations within Connecticut.
Feeling nervous, Bob? I haven’t spoken with the Foley camp yet. As to your questioning my presence here instead of campaigning–Speedy is coming!

How about “None of the above”?
If the Queen can vote her peasants, I don’t see why we all don’t have votes here.
Tom Foley!!! I voted for Malloy last time, not this time around though. If Foley cracks 20% or more in Bridgeport, he wins the state!
I’m with donj on both points. I’m also thinking if Malloy had this race in the bag he wouldn’t bring in Obama to bail him out (which has huge risks attached to it). I’m thinking the Obama move is a go-for-broke strategy–it might win him the race or he goes down in flames.
Hey! This poll is rigged! It keeps telling me.
You Had Already Voted For This Poll. Poll ID #3
Now put an egg in your shoe and beat it!
Sonny, if anyone on your home network already voted, or someone else voted using your computer, then the poll software says you’ve already voted. It doesn’t keep track of your name.
Sanctity of the ballot.
It will be fun to see if Santa Ayala prints enough ballots for the the Obama turnout.
After the elections, the CT Post will be attacking Santa Ayala for ordering too many ballots and wasting trees.
From what I hear, the Absentee Ballots have already had to be re-ordered because they were wrong. Go Sandi.
Town Clerk Alma Maya whose office oversees distribution of absentee ballots reports no reordering of ballots.
