If the election for Governor were being held today and the candidates were Tom Foley (R), Dan Malloy (D), Joe Visconti (petition) and Jonathan Pelto (write-in), for whom would you vote?

  • Tom Foley (Republican) (46%, 68 Votes)

  1. Lennie, this blog slants to the Democrat Party (of which I am a lifelong member). With 40% leaning to Foley and over 80% pro-Democrat, a statistician would extrapolate a Malloy debacle.

    1. Bob, this poll is more for fun than anything else, it’s not scientific, but the OIB audience is broader than you think in makeup. Bridgeport is the single largest community audience, but the overall outside audience of suburban readers (Trumbull, Stratford, Fairfield, etc) and around the state is actually larger. The audience is actually more reflective of the entire state than Bridgeport with many readers unaffiliated with a party. OIB readers are also the most active in their communities so they’re engaged on various issues.

  2. I’m with donj on both points. I’m also thinking if Malloy had this race in the bag he wouldn’t bring in Obama to bail him out (which has huge risks attached to it). I’m thinking the Obama move is a go-for-broke strategy–it might win him the race or he goes down in flames.
