Babysitter Brings Infant Girl To Pool Party, Charged With Endangerment

News release from Bill Kaempffer, Bridgeport Police spokesman:

A city woman faces a child endangerment charge after she allegedly brought a 2-year-old girl she was babysitting to a late-night hotel pool party without the mother’s permission.

Police encountered the mother just after midnight. She said she had left her child with her babysitter but, when she called to retrieve her after work, couldn’t get the babysitter to answer her phone.

That triggered an hours-long investigation and Silver Alert.

Based on preliminary information, the babysitter, later identified as Samya (cq) Quinones, was looking after the child and, without permission, brought the child to a pool party at a Stratford hotel.

After an investigation, the child was reunited with her mother and Quinones was charged with risk of injury to a minor. Bond was set at $20,000.

  1. It’s not that the days are slower–Lennie is the slow one. It’s Monday and he still hasn’t heard of the City of Bridgeport security guard and daughter of one of the great city leaders who allegedly fired or pull the trigger of a fake gun on another employee at the Health Department on East Main Street. The mayor wants gun control but tolerates this type of behavior as demonstrated by his silence.
