  1. During the past 14 months I spoke at Public Speaking sessions of City Council meetings often for three minutes at a time, advancing the notion of Casual Civics Conversations. I developed the concept further during 20 Classes of Parent Leader instructional sessions and by filling out opportunities for City Council members to act in their District and convene smaller gatherings of interested citizens in sharing their knowledge and questions about municipal governance. One Council person responded with attendance at Fruta sessions.
Others agreed but did not act or use materials I had prepared.
Subsequently I participated in the Charter process with 12 other citizens over about 14 weeks. Both the City Council and voters approved the entirety of our work that significantly revised the way we meet Ethical obligations in the City, the re-organization of Civil Service actions by simplification and clarification that will save City taxpayers, and sought more direct communication from the Executive, as well as boards and commissions annually. The new Charter also offers an alternative to make appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council, for instance.
As the election season came upon us I was asked by the two newcomers to District 130, part of West End and Black Rock, to be their campaign treasurer, which is how I got to know them. They were experienced, fact based decision makers with energy and I agreed to work for them. None of the ideas above surprise me. They provide for OPEN, ACCOUNTABLE, TRANSPARENT, and HONEST values and create opportunities for being part of ‘governance decisions’ at the tables where these are settled.
The above words are Galen Murray’s. Most are necessary to increase quality results from City bodies, and who does not presently seek such quallity results in the near future? Time will tell.

  2. Very thoughtful, timely, valid points in a well-crafted position paper. But given the composition of the new City Council, it seems that it will be a steep, uphill battle getting the majority of the Council to forcefully push for such an agenda. Ideally, the Mayor and Council President would be out in front of such an agenda, rallying the Council to act appropriately. We can certainly hope that this happens, but I wouldn’t hold my breath — unless somehow the initiative is adopted by the press and they are able to follow it and editorialize to the point of helping to get the voters of Bridgeport to rally around it — and maybe get a real grass-roots movement to rally around it. (Generation Now? NAACP?…)

  3. Happy Sunday, divine worship day, you F-in heathens. 🙂

In the spirit clearing shit up and of the spiritual family of the God of Abraham. I know you love your words people, but clearly there’s some retarded shit going on that needs to be reconciled.

    Don’t you think?

This shits seems to be put together like our sausage laws. It has the flavor and scent of our city charter.

In the spirit of taking a page out of, for the Book of Mormons. I think it is fair to say, yeah, no, just no. Go ,is in order. 🤣

While we’re at it. We can throw Scientology in that “yeah, no, playbook. Sorry Tom but that shit is retared too. Though I hear the tax incentives are special. 🙂

In the spirit of cleaning shit up and uniting the God of Abraham’s spiritual family. Y’all going to need something to join you together, Sure you go Jerusalem, I am sure the Keymaster is working on that. But I’m talking about “holiday” , spiritual time of reflections, and celebration.

While I am biased towards Baby Jesus. It is, fitting, considering words in the Quran regarding baby Jesus and the veneration of his mother and the birth. It seems appropriate to have the Christmas celebration of baby Jesus as a celebration of rebirth, renewal for the Spiritual family of the God of Abraham.

I mean it is much more compassionate, merciful, and fitting to the words of God to give your children a celebration with gifts, presents and protection rather than selling them into slavery, killing them, or pawning them off to grown ass men, and the such. NO?

The Buddhist and Hinduist can join in on the celebration of Baby Jesus as well. Considering. 🙂 In fact it can be a universal humanity thing. Even Atheists can participate. I mean your kids will eventually learn reindeers can’t fly, physically speaking. 🙂

To each their own, within celebration of baby Jesus, be it God, Prophet, or fairytale, or just for the hippy working a record shop. 🙂

What do you say, Beijing? 🙂
