Arrest Made In Senator Gomes Car-Crash Death

A city man accused of racing has been charged in the December 2020 death of former state Sen. Edwin Gomes.

According to police, Clive Henry, 20, of Bridgeprt, was racing another car at high speeds on Boston Avenue when his car collided with a car driven by Gomes, 84, who died of his injuries nine days later.

Henry was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

During a brief court appearance on Tuesday, Henry did not plead to the charges and the case was continued to March 24. He is free after posting $75,000 bond.
