From U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal:
Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) joined Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch to announce the establishment of a regional office at the Brien McMahon Federal Building in Bridgeport, in order to enhance and expand outreach and community access in Southwestern Connecticut.
“This new office will provide expanded outreach and access to people of the region who need service or help,” said Blumenthal. “Regardless of the specific issue–veterans or social security benefits, health insurance denials or legislative proposals–our staff will be there to work and fight for individuals and families. We’ll coordinate our efforts with state and local authorities, and I thank Mayor Finch for his leadership and support.”
“Senator Blumenthal has always been a great friend to the City of Bridgeport, and we in City government and the citizens of the Park City are always appreciative of the work he does in Washington on our behalf. We welcome his decision to locate an office here, which will make it easier for constituents to gain access to him and his staff,” said Mayor Bill Finch.
Blumenthal’s office, which will open in late January, will be located at 915 Lafayette Boulevard on the second floor. Locating the office in the federal building means better access to federal agencies for constituents.
In addition to the Bridgeport office, Blumenthal has a primary state office in Hartford, at 90 State House Square.
*** Whether he’s paying rent or not for the Fed office is really not an issue for me. The fact citizens of southern Fairfield County will be able to reach him is good, also with all the vacant office space downtown it may draw more interest in general, no? ***
