From CT Secretary of the State Denise Merrill:
Merrill: All Town Ballots for November 8th Municipal Elections Available for Viewing Online
Secretary of the State Urges Connecticut Voters to Go Online to View Ballots for Their City or Town Prior to Election Day
Hartford: With time growing short before the 2011 Municipal Elections, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill today announced that ballots in every town and city in Connecticut where polls will be open on November 8th are available for viewing online (ballots for five towns that held their municipal elections in May are not included). Secretary Merrill is also urging eligible voters in Connecticut to familiarize themselves with the municipal election ballots by going online either to the Secretary of the State’s website www.sots.ct.gov homepage or by following the “Vote-EZ-CT” link to see the ballot in their town. The direct link to the town ballots is:
www.sots.ct.gov/sots/cwp/view.asp?a=3179&q=488414 (Voters who use the vote-by-phone system are also encouraged to contact their local Registrar of Voters if they are interested in using the preview and practice function of the system prior to Election Day).“I want to remind the voters of Connecticut that Election Day is around the corner in your town or city, so now is the time to find out with what offices and candidates are on the ballot,” said Secretary Merrill, Connecticut’s chief elections official. “Many important decisions concerning town budgets and schools are going to be made in your community based on who wins the elections on November 8th so I urge every voter in Connecticut to visit our website, see who is running, and familiarize yourself with the ballot you will be using on Tuesday November 8th.”
On Election Day November 8, 2011 polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. for registered voters in Connecticut. Voters can check their registration status online and find where their polling place is by visiting www.sots.ct.gov and find out how to use the vote-by-phone system. The voter registration deadlines for the municipal elections are October 25th by mail and November 1st in-person at Registrars of Voters Offices.
“Vote by phone” would add measurably to the entertainment quotient of Bridgeport elections:
“Hello? Hello? Me and my peeples want 500. Straight ticket, no Mary-Jane.”
