Finch Adds Another Endorsement: Building Trades

News release from Finch campaign:

The Finch for Senate campaign today announced the endorsement of one of the largest trade union organizations in the state. The Connecticut State Building Trades Council (CSBTC) endorsed Bill Finch for State Senate to represent Bridgeport, Monroe, and Trumbull.

The CSBTC voted to approve a select group of candidates who have demonstrated strong support for issues important to their members in the unionized construction industry. The CSBTC is a diverse council representing over 13 different crafts, encompassing approximately 30,000 construction workers across Connecticut.

Keith Brothers, the Chair of the Council, praised Finch for his leadership on behalf of the men and women of the Connecticut Building Trades. Brothers stated, “We must have leaders like Bill Finch fighting to protect our core standards, including prevailing wage protections, the inclusion of Project Labor Agreements, strong apprenticeship standards, occupational licensing standards, and open competitive bidding laws. We are grateful to Bill for his staunch support of these principles. We believe he is the clear choice for the working families of Bridgeport, Monroe, and Trumbull. Bill demonstrated his leadership through his extensive career in public service and is the only candidate in this race with the unique combination of experience, perspective, and skills to hit the ground running and deliver results for the 22nd Senatorial district.”
Bill Finch added, “I am honored and humbled to earn the support of the Connecticut State Building Trades. I look forward to continuing to champion the issues of working families and the building trades in Hartford. Good-paying jobs and worker safety remain my top priorities.”
