Amp readies for inaugural season.

Preparing for its first season of college graduations, concerts and community events, the boutique 6,000-seat Harford HealthCare Amphitheater will host a jobs fair on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 500 Broad Street, site of the former Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

The destination seeks seasonal workers in guest services, ushers, security, food and beverage.

Applicants are required to fill out an online application ahead of time and attach a resume. Visit the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater website to access the form https://hartfordhealthcareamp.com/career-fair.

“This is an excellent opportunity for local residents to be part of the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater family,” said Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater General Manager Andy Nunn. “We are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic individuals who are excited to be a part of our team.”

The Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater is a joint venture with the City of Bridgeport in association with concert promoter Live Nation.

The country music duo Brothers Osbourne is the first booked concert, Aug. 20, for the venue by Live Nation. Other concert acts to take place before and after that date will be announced in the coming weeks.

  1. Good idea, Jim. I’m thinking of signing up as P.T. Barnum. I better get to work on my resume.
I think I’ll try for a hospitality gig. It should be right up PT’s alley.

Resumes are required for 16yr olds to get a job in grocery stores now too..and Marshall, yes these are probably entry level positions that you say “are just ushers&snack bar workers”,but too alot of people it’s a way to help support themselves or families.A job is a job these days, you shouldn’t be demeaning them..

    1. @Harvey

I owned and operated 15 clothing stores that hired loads pf 16 year old teens to their first jobs. I also was Corporate Director of Personnel for a garment manufacturer responsible for operations in four states.
I was NOT demeaning the entry workers or the jobs, I was MOCKING the fools who think a 16 year old applying for an entry level, minimum wage position requires a resume. This is a waste of time, paper and money. The person coming up with this requirement is either out of touch with reality or self-impressed,

In 1981, I replaced a three page employment application at Waterbury Garment Corporation with a four line application available in four languages. Most of our applicants were immigrants or Spanish speaking American citizens. Too much tome was being wasted as they had people accompanying them trying to translate and fill out the original forms. The translators were often illiterate in two languages.

      New Form:
      Name……………………………………………………….Social Security#……………………………………………..
      Address…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
      Phone#……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
What type of sewing machine do you operate?…………………………………………………………….

Any applicant that appears to meet our needs was taken to the sewing floor, seated at a machine and tested by a floor supervisor (who spoke their language). The floor supervisors made the hiring decisions.

The last thing I’d want to do if review resumes for this type of position and have to file them and retain them in personnel files, occupying space for no good reason.

If I wanted to hire entry level workers for seasonal jobs as this article discusses, I want ID and contact info, permission for criminal background checks and a line or two for any work experience.
Also, proof the person can legally work in the US.
A resume for these jobs is overkill

      1. This is YOUR opinion Marshall,it’s not 1981 anymore..I for one am glad that buisnesses require a resume, not all entry level jobs are filled by 16 yr olds. Sorry Marshall you’re wrong with your thinking here.I would bet you dollars to donuts that there will be ALL ages applying for these jobs, times are tough now and you’re out of touch with reality..
