In the latest True Vote shared by our friends at the New Haven Independent, they ask: “Should the state proceed with expanding Keno to cities?” Let us know by casting your vote. The state is examining gaming expansion that includes the electronic game Keno in hundreds of restaurants and bars as well as slots at three pari-mutuel facilities in Connecticut, including one in Bridgeport. Slot expansion is expected to be debated in the 2014 legislative session.

Want to bet somebody who stands to profit from this is going to gain some traction in the political system? A statistics course a long time ago taught “the odds are always in favor of the house.” Didn’t the old-time local numbers rackets make sure everyone in the neighborhood won at least once so they would acquire a taste for gambling?
