  1. This gives G2 a chance to highlight the actual things that were accomplished in the Port since 2015, under his most recent tenure. If he can stay away from Port’s politics/game.
    .

G2 needs to stay on point, The Port, not him, not Gomes, The Port. and highlight/focus the discussion on, The Port

Vision: Highlight the significance of investments in the Port vision of becoming the Capital destination for the Arts and entertainment, Venues, Murals, etc

City Infrastructure investment: Highlight Parks and public works.

    Local development: Housing, MLS, etc.

City Hall: The hiring of more minorities, in top-level positions in the history of the Port. Gomes included. Increased the Port’s bond rating and rain day fund, S like that

Police/law enforcement: It is not just about stats. Considering how the police were viewed in the era of Trump. Highlight the changes that were made in BPD, like Body cameras, Fusion Center, and high-tech police investments. With the hiring of a new generation of officers, the minority increased in high-ranking positions, Including the first Latina minority Chief of police, Rebecca Garcia.

It was a very difficult decision to pick Chief Porter over Garcia. I felt Porter was the best candidate to engage his officers and communicate to the public to bring back trust in their law enforcement and not view them as bad
guys/pigs or piglets. In a time when it is desperately needed in our city and across this nation. I was hoping Garcia would stay on as Assistant Chief, She and Porter had been on BPS serving the Port and it residents for many years, and it was lost when she chose to retire to all of us. ( With regards to AJ, AJ too was a long-time Bridgeport Police officer who served this city. Frankly, I was shocked and disheartened that he took such steps in the process. If you ask anyone even my challenger they would tell you AJ was a nice Guy

As for Ballot Gate, Pointing fingers was a sad and moot point. “ I am disheartened about the events surrounding the Primary. We as a city have to do more to ensure Ports elections are FAIR. Campaigns and elected officials have to ensure Port’s elections are fair and honest. teh Port and its residents deserve nothing less. I believe as a city its elected officers have to do what they can to see the city voters’ voices are heard at the ballot box. We are holding a new primary because of the laps that have taken place in the election process, on both sides

(wouldn’t go negative as to why G2 has to let Gomes go, But just say it just wasn’t working out. I thought it was in the best interest to not keep him on for an 8th year. The same goes for Ricci, a key supporter of Gomes.

G2’s last interview with Melissa didn’t bold well in his attack/gotcha game, to say the least. It came off sad, weak, and desperate. 😞

Gomes is going to have to make it about G2, G2 has to make it about the city. If he makes it all about John, Well, sad and weak.
