What To Know About Sunday’s Puerto Rican Parade Route

Parade Route: scheduled start 11 AM
Start: Central High School (1 Lincoln Boulevard) – staging area for floats and organizers.
Route: The parade will proceed westbound on Taft Avenue to Park Avenue, then continue southbound on Park Avenue until arriving at Seaside Park’s Arches and ending at the Elias Howe Statue inside the park.
Length: Approximately 2.8 miles.
Road Closures and Traffic Control:
Side Streets: All side streets leading onto Park Avenue will be blocked by police officers to ensure a safe parade route.
Park Avenue: Police officers will be positioned to ensure no traffic enters the parade route. Vehicles parked on Park Avenue will be towed.
Closure Time: Side streets will begin to be shut down at approximately 10:00 AM.
Traffic Escort: The Traffic Division along with Chief Porter will escort the parade from the staging area onto the parade route to Seaside Park.
Traffic Delays:
Expect heavy traffic delays around the Park Avenue and North Avenue, State Street area as the parade passes by these streets.
Please allow extra travel time due to potential delays in this area during the parade.
Safety Tips:
Pedestrians: Stay on sidewalks and designated viewing areas. Follow police instructions.
Vehicles: Avoid parking along the parade route. Plan alternate routes to avoid road closures.
Emergency: In case of emergency, locate the nearest police officer or emergency personnel for assistance.

    PR heritage and culture are part of Columbus’s History. You can’t celebrate one without acknowledging the other. Let’s try to remember that with your inner racism/game of white people/Anti-America. Unless you condemn both, that would be fair and you want to change PR Day to Indigenous People / Taínos Day. JS
