Damage control mode, eh Mayor Joe Ganim? Soon you will start to realize that Porter was the wrong order. Imagine if these homicides would have taken place at the very same time and day the mayor, council president, Cheese Porter, and just about every officer he could order to attend the circus performance at the city council chamber this pass Monday. I bet these two homicides were planned or being observed by the culprits, days, weeks, or months before. Be careful what you wish for Mayor Ganim. Porter=Disorder.
By the way, there was another law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty for year 2023. Another one was injured. The shooter was a mentally disturbed man (code 52).

Let me get this straight! One of the homicides occurred at Trumbull Gardens. That’s part of Senator Marilyn Moore’s district. The mayor’s office doesn’t have Moore’s contact information. No one called her when the administration was $2.1 million short to balance the budget last year. Can’t work with Senator Moore but, they are willing to work with the community at large. Calling your bluff Roderick Ganim.
Speedy, how about enlightening OIB readers why you’re raging against Porter? Your custodial duties have been transferred from the PD to City Hall. What’s behind that?

I have to take exception to statements made in relation to fatal shootings that occur in public spaces, such as “…there is no threat to the general public…”. Well; such statements are as dangerous as they are non-sensical. If you have gang warfare/shooting in public spaces, the “general public” is certainly at danger. People who live in, or near Trumbull Gardens and/or drive through/traverse Trumbull Gardens as part of their normal business should certainly feel threatened….
I agree, these guys have the Kohunass to try a make us believe it’s safe out there. We may have two killers with guns somewhere out there and we’re supposed to feel safe.
