Watch: Chief Porter Forum In East End

From Police Department Facebook page:

More than 50 residents turned out for the East End Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) meeting at Newfield Library to engage in a community conversation on crime, policing, and public safety.

Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter joined the discussion, listening to concerns from residents and sharing his vision for building safer neighborhoods. The event provided a platform for open dialogue between the police and the community, focusing on collaboration and transparency.

Attendees expressed concerns about gun violence, youth engagement, and the importance of community policing. Chief Porter emphasized the need for continued communication and partnership between law enforcement and residents to create lasting change.

The meeting was one of several planned efforts by the East End NRZ to strengthen community ties and address neighborhood challenges.

  1. Congratulations to the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone for hosting a successful gathering of 50 or more citizens to ask questions and share opinions with Chief Porter of the Police Department.
Last evening there was a City Council subcommittee meeting at City Hall, a Charter Committee Public Hearing at the Madison Avenue Library with another 6:00 PM time. Yet more folks were attending the NRZ info sharing, question answering process. Good to observe in light of Police Department in the news recently. What does public wish to know, and whom do they trust to provide good answers? Is OIB vital and trusted with its presentations? Time will tell.

You’re really dumb! You haven’t noticed that Lennie is now leading the Bridgeport Police Department’s Press and Spin Department?
The next commentary/ press release will be another episode of Thief Porter’s Corner. By the way Lennie, have you been following the Pension Fraud appeal at the New Britain court? Oh, right! It’s ONLY in Bridgeport.

  3. Joel,
OIB continues to publish the comments that each of us send. If news is so spare in the City that attempts at making folks in multiple districts aware of their rights, and anwering their questions proactively, as no other department (imo) does, then I salute Chief Porter and OIB when they continue to provide “word” to the public.

If you have an issue you dispute, from long ago, or near at hand, reveal it, disclose it. Getting your undies in a twist about me, and my state of knowledge casts more onus on your state of mind than on the worthiness of my intelligence and oversight.

Fact, the Library provided the space and as advertised the Police Chief was present to advise the public and respond to questions of the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone gathering. That’s good. IMO. 50 citizens thought so as well. What’s your problem? Or no problem, except for? Time will tell.
