Loving, caring, classy, always greeting with a smile, Vicky Diaz had a way of putting people at ease, especially in the invective world of politics.
She comes from a political era that included some of her closest friends such as District Leader Dottie Guman and long-time City Clerk Fleeta Hudson. Her son, city police commissioner Hector and family, announced her passing on his Facebook page.
Vicky and her husband Hector, who passed away in 2014, were quite the East Side political power couple, respected in all corners of the city. Vicky and Hector Sr., the knowledgeable town clerk, were always available and present.

Letting everyone know my mom ”Vicky” Brigida Diaz left us , she is now with all those who loved her and left before her. She didn’t want anyone to suffer or be sad as she is going to a kingdom where she will watch over us, she suffers no more.
Arrangement information will be forthcoming. Please know that my mother never judged anyone and loved everyone for who they were. Mami we will always do as you taught us, treat all people well, as you would wish to be treated. Bendicion!!!
That’s the last time I saw Vicky in person. On about 3 occasions the last 2 years, I got a call from Vicky. “Hello, hi Vicky. Hello, hello, Hello…”
I could hear Vick talki with someone. On another call she was like ridding in a car. The calls were accidental and she did hear my voice. Rest in peace.

Thank you Lennie for posting, Mom was always fond of you . I would send the OIB link to her through my sister as she wasn’t too computer savy (I’m not to good at it either). She loved reading your stories and had all the books . She was cognizant to the end . She wished her many friends here in Bridgeport the best , she believed in Bridgeport and its future as many of us do. Again , thank you Lennie the funeral arrangements were posted today and I would love to have her guestbook filled with acknowledgement from her friends
