From Linda Conner Lambeck, CT Post:
Laura Trombley, president of the University of Bridgeport for less than two years, has resigned effective immediately and is becoming president of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
Trombley took over as UB president in July 2018. Her new job will start July 1.
Southwestern University announced the hire Thursday on social media and through a Zoom tele-conference.
Word of Trombley’s departure spread like wildflower among university staff on Thursday morning, most working virtually.

She’s no Michael Strahan. She fumbled the ball at U.B.
And made many there miserable….is what I’ve been told.
Connecticut to Texas. No brainer.
Low taxes, less regulation
not a nanny state like Ct.
I still have ‘faculty privileges’ and have seen e-mails and announcements. There are external factors related to ‘international’ students effecting many colleges in Connecticut. There is internal criticism of actions taken during Trombley’s tenure that paint a disturbing picture.
I hope UB survives.
