At 2:15am Police received a call of a large street fight with possible shots fired at Murphy’s Law at 239 Fairfield Avenue. The crowd had pretty much dissipated when police arrived, but they did confirm there was a shooting after talking to witnesses.
The witness gave a brief clothing description. Police dispatched officers to Bridgeport Hospital and St. Vincent’s emergency rooms. Within ten minutes the victim arrived by private vehicle, he was shot in the leg. A short time later a man matching the description showed up at St. Vincent’s Emergency Room and he was arrested.
A short time later around 4am another shooting took place at 36 Belmont Ave another man was shot in the abdomen. Brandon Jordan, 27, of 1147 Pembroke St. was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he is in serious but stable condition. The victim knew the shooter and police expect to make an arrest.
Seems like there is no Murphy’s Law and order after 11 p.m. Hey Lennie, any information on what was the take in the Bijou Theater robbery? I see Doing it Local is reporting more than the Ct Post and OIB–as far as Bridgeport crime goes. Maybe Lennie should partner with Local Eyes and form: www .DoingitLocalOIBEyes.com. While Lennie reports the facts as reported by other news sources, Local Eyes can give us his spin as seen from bucolic Trumbull. At the beginning of last year, I posted a question on Facebook which asked: Which city will have the most homicides this year, with multiple choices of Bridgeport, New Haven, and Hartford. I got it right by predicting Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport in third place. I think this year, Bridgeport will be close to Hartford but in second place with New Haven in third.
*** The New Year’s just getting started, no? ***
Talking about shooting, Lennie! Why haven’t you posted anything about Newt Gingrich shooting down CNN? Heck, I haven’t seen a single mention of the Republican presidential debate at all here. Don’t you think the best way to “Move America Forward” would be to have open debates and providing equal time to other political parties? I’m following the Republican primaries because I feel that there is a lot to learn–from a Democrat point of view–from the way the Republican voters (from three different states so far) are choosing whom to support. Political junkies like yourself may be able to get a clearer perspective by listening and looking at what’s being said and done by members of both parties. Does anyone knows if CNN’s nosebleeding has stopped?
