From Bill Kaempffer, public safety spokesman:
A second person has died in connection with a rollover crash on Madison Avenue. The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday in the area of Madison Avenue and Queen Street.
Speed is being investigated as a factor. A motorist told police that the vehicle was traveling north on Madison and had passed another motorist when the driver lost control. The vehicle went airborne and rolled. The preliminary investigation indicates the Buick Century illegally passed another vehicle on the right side traveling north on Madison Ave near Burnsford Ave striking the right side mirror of the other car. The Buick lost control, crossed the roadway into the southbound lane, collided with a snow bank and went airborne.
The occupants had to be extricated by the Fire Department. A male occupant was pronounced dead at the hospital. A female occupant later died from her injuries. A third occupant, a male, remains in critical condition. The accident remains under investigation.
God bless them and their families.
