Excerpt from Justice Sotomayer’s dissent following SCOUTS 6-3 decision.
“When he uses his official powers in any way, under the majority’s reasoning, he now will be insulated from criminal prosecution. Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune. Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune. Takes a bribe in exchange for a pardon? Immune. Immune, immune, immune,” Sotomayor wrote.
“Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his official power for evil ends. Because if he knew that he may one day face liability for breaking the law, he might not be as bold and fearless as we would like him to be. That is the majority’s message today,” Sotomayor also wrote. “Even if these nightmare scenarios never play out, and I pray they never do, the damage has been done. The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.”

Maybe someone on Trump’s Enemies List will take him out before the November Election. Those “named” to Trump’s Enemies List (TEL) should recall the Eagles classic-rock verse: “You can check out, but you can never leave.” That “Hotel California” cliché reflects Trump’s long memory and inability to forgive perceived violations of his obsessive demands for loyalty that run only one way.

With all of the specific, clearly delineated, “protected” powers granted to the president, directly and indirectly (already in place) per the Constitutuion, allowing essential executive actions on behalf of all aspects of the protection/promotion of the interests of the United States and its citizens, this initiative to “clarify” the “protected” powers of the POTUS to include “all official acts” was tantamount to the SCOTUS taking it upon itself to illegally amend the Constitution to allow virtually any arbitrary action by the POTUS, including any number that were previously subject to exclusion by the Constitution and collective national and state criminal codes of the US. Never, in US history, has a SCOTUS with a lower collective IQ and morals, serving a morally- and intellectually-bankrupt presidential candidate ever had the opportunity exercise such undue influence on the future well-being of the country — even when the obvious need to abolish slavery was repeatedly brought to the forefront of American politics over the course of decades….
This SCOTUS ruling was illegal and irrational… It was epically STUPID, CRIMINAL, and EVIL… It has created dangers for the whole world, beyond measure. It must be rescinded by the next Congress even as the SCOTUS members responsible are impeached.
To make such a ruling with the evil dote, Trump, in mind, is beyond comprehensible for most of the world and most Americans.
The 2024 election is obviously now the most important presidential election in American history and can only have one good outcome, one that must include the letter D….
