From Mayor Bill Finch:
Mayor Bill Finch today announced that the City’s street improvement program will begin with the milling of Grey Rock Road, Rainbow Road, Valley Avenue and Grenelle Street in the City’s 135th District on Thursday, September 19, weather permitting.
Nearly 25 streets, which were selected in a collaborative effort between Mayor Finch, City Council members and the Department of Public Works, will be included in this season’s street improvement program. A number of factors are considered during the selection process, including an analysis of the current condition of the road, the volume of traffic, and public input.
“We have established a very aggressive street paving program that is focused on enhancing roadways throughout the city and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Finch. “Thanks to the City Council members, the Public Works Department and the feedback from residents, for their efforts in helping us continue to improve the City’s infrastructure.”
The City’s Street Improvement Program includes the milling and paving of roads in all 10 City Council districts.
During roadway improvements, residents and drivers can expect intermittent street closures and temporary parking bans while crews are working.

There’s nothing like the smell of hot asphalt just before an election.
*** Which area will get the majority of long streets paved I wonder, bets on T. Mac’s district, no? ***
