Protests of animals in circuses are a serious matter, Mojo. Countries around the world are banning them. It is also a serious issue in Bridgeport–the home of the modern circus. Animals will be suffering right here in our town as they do every year when Ringling comes here. For details on the history of the circus in Bridgeport and the four upcoming protests Oct. 18 19 20 21, see: www .facebook.com/Bridgeportintheknowpage?ref=hl#!/notes/bridgeport-in-the-know/protest-ringling-brothers-circus-in-bridgeport-oct-18-21-at-webster-bank-arena/474971962543594
*** PETA serves a great purpose in looking out for nature’s animals but seem to fail in giving credit when credit’s due when good changes are made by the circus in the care of their animals. Maybe by establishing better relations with the circus more goals might be met that overall improves all circus animals’ lives, no? *** ZOMBIELAND ISSUES ***
Mojo, the circus may give their animals cleaner straw and more vitamins, but they still breed animals in their facility down south, take babies away from the family group and cruelly train them. You cannot train an elephant to do stupid tricks without force and pain. The sharp bull hook is still the training tool. You can see the trainers using it in the ring today. Elephants are kept chained for practically their whole lives on concrete floors. Many have arthritis from that and being forced to stand on their rear legs. They are not trained with tasty treats. TB is prevalent in circus elephants yet Ringling still exposes the public to this every day. The list still goes on and on. Sorry to burst your optimistic bubble, but this is not about PETA working with Ringling for better conditions, it is about banning wild animals in their circus. Feld entertainment is the largest wild animal entertainment group in the world and they will never do that without legal sanctions and a fight. Countries around the world are banning wild animals in circuses and someday it will happen here.
*** Maybe the circus clowns can dress up like animals instead of using the real thing, no? *** HERE WE GO! ***
