From Paul Schott, CT Post:
The world’s largest coffeehouse chain has launched its third location in Connecticut’s most-populous city.
Starbucks’ store at 149 Mountain Grove St., on Bridgeport’s west side, opened last Friday. The new establishment includes a café and drive-thru.
The new store joins Starbucks’ establishment at 255 E. Main St., that opened in 2015 in the Steelpointe development, just east of downtown, and a location at 4531 Main St., in Brookside Center, in the city’s north end that opened last year. The Steelpointe location is one of several Starbucks establishments in Connecticut that has been undergoing renovations this summer.
…“The expansion of Starbucks’ presence within Bridgeport shows that national brands can thrive in the city,” Bill Coleman, deputy director of Bridgeport’s Office of Planning & Economic Development, said earlier this year. “It signals particularly to the real estate development and financing community that the city is a growing market — growing both in population and in buying power — and that national businesses would do well to plant their flag in Bridgeport to capture this market and benefit from this growth.”

Is this the best you can come up with OPED , what the Fluck are we paying you people for?
Very scary.
Just as he did with Hugh Scott at Stop & Shop, Bill Coleman of OPED should’ve asked Starbucks to do “something special” for Bridgeport or was he too afraid to confront a national brand ?
