I am excited to share two projects in Bridgeport have been awarded nearly $100,000 through the Connecticut Department of Agriculture’s 2025 Agricultural Enhancement Grant program. Green Village Initiative and nOURish Bridgeport will use these funds to expand access to fresh, culturally relevant food, strengthen urban growing infrastructure, and provide hands-on learning opportunities—from early childhood education to hydroponics and mushroom cultivation. These investments reflect a growing commitment to sustainable agriculture, food justice, and youth engagement right here in our community.
