Watch: School Board Approves Levy-David Separation Agreement

Education officials made embattled Superintendent of Schools Carmela Levy-David an offer a few weeks ago: resign and we’ll pay you to the end of the school year.

The Board of Education Wednesday night, by a 6-2 vote, approved a separation package, although details of the final resolution were not immediately disclosed.

Levy-David lost negotiating leverage by breaking terms of her contract, including moving out of the district. She had been on leave for weeks.

Royce Avery is now acting superintendent.
