Did you ever think about what time and effort goes into planning and scheduling important community meetings and events? And a lot of that investment and momentum are lost when the event is called off (without an automatic reschedule), right? Perhaps I have been going to too many meetings here in Bridgeport where I see cancellations weekly, but do you have a sense the Mayor’s Office, the Council and others have been scheduling event dates on shorter notice than the past, and still cancelling them close to the event or even at the meeting?
Can anyone provide general info on this phenomenon? Fourth Mayoral panel regarding 2013 budget meeting with public–never held … City Council Committee meetings this week–cancelled … last-minute BOE meeting to discuss a single issue to meet in a classroom at Central HS announced late last Friday afternoon and failed to be held officially because fourth Board member never showed … no quorum.
Electronic tools make for such convenience and so many people have them at the ready. Too bad there was not a Community Post where people gather around and talk about the various items with interest and civility. Or would you call that ONLY IN BRIDGEPORT? Time will tell.
